Where it gets tricky is when we introduce field of view, which is a measurement of how wide of an angle a camera’s sensor can capture using a particular focal length of lens. We can easily calculate the effect of this so called crop factor (sometimes referred to as the lens multiplication factor or lens conversion factor) by multiplying how much larger a full frame sensor is than the sensor on the camera in question (1.5x, 1.6x, 2.0x, etc) by the focal length of a lens.
